Founded in 2022, Wishlist Music is an Indian-based company with worldwide ambitions. During the Covid Crises, our Team Wishlist spent a lot of time conducting research. While we were awed by the region’s limitless supply of talent and creativity, we were equally disturbed by the music industry’s complexity and legacy structures, which made it almost impossible for independent artists in these countries to get their music out into the world. We saw a problem in the music industry and set out to correct it.
Since then, we’ve amassed a user base of tens of thousands, received funding from some of the most prestigious music tech venture capital firms, and introduced a number of ground-breaking services. From a record label redefined by the music industry’s transformation, we’ve evolved into a worldwide digital artist services organization whose mission is to support the rapidly growing global community of independent artists..
For us, challenging the status quo is a natural part of our DNA, and we’ve only just begun.
Taking the Music Forward
Our goal is to help artists realize their full potential by providing them with the tools they need to succeed on their own terms.
People who generate music are undergoing a seismic change. Modern artists desire to be self-sufficient. For them, it’s all about innovating in order to move the culture forward while also creating a passion economy. They want to create their brand and manage their business on their own terms, rather than relying on others.
The time has come to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. They don’t fit within the outdated music industry. In order to defraud artists, this system intentionally makes things complicated and unintuitive. As it burns, we want to use the ashes to create something better in the future.
Music’s future is being determined by a new generation that expects to be able to do everything they want. Our easy-to-use artist services and digital music distribution services are tailored specifically for them. We’re part of a cultural shift, and our job is to help it progress.
